County Offers Deputies Higher Pay

On Wednesday August 21st the County's negotiation team provided their Last, Best, and Final offer to the Kern Law Enforcement Association that includes salary increases, recruitment bonuses, and additional paid time off. U.S. Supreme Court Ruling on Employee Representational Fees  (PDF)

Today, the United States Supreme Court issued a ruling that restricts public employers from deducting fees from represented employees who are non-union members. The Court ruled that this process violates the First Amendment of the United States Constitution.

Redistricting Settlement Announced

Federal Judge Drozd just signed orders formally redrawing Kern County district lines. There will be minor changes needed to ensure a coherent legal description. Changes will not impact population.

Kern County Implements New Security Screening  (PDF)

Beginning March 27, 2017, all visitors to the Administrative Center at 1115 Truxtun Avenue will be required to submit to a security screening process prior to gaining access to the building. The public will only be allowed into the building through the south entrance.   List of Prohibited Items
